The Danner USMC RAT (Rugged All-Terrain) Hot Weather Boot is the gold standard for high-performance footwear in arid and tropical environments. Developed to meet the specific requirements of the United States Marine Corps for operations in the most punishing landscapes on earth, this boot is engineered with a "no-fail" mentality. Constructed from a combination of breathable 1000 Denier nylon and premium full-grain nubuck leather, the Hot Weather RAT is reinforced with polyurethane-coated "sharkskin" leather on the toe and heel to provide unmatched abrasion resistance against jagged rocks and debris.
Unlike the temperate version, the Hot Weather model is designed for maximum ventilation, featuring a moisture-wicking lining and drainage vents to keep feet cool and dry in extreme heat. Built on Danner’s legendary handcrafted stitch-down construction, these boots offer an incredibly stable platform for heavy load-bearing and are fully recraftable. In New (unissued) condition, they provide factory-perfect Vibram traction and the official Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem embossed on the heel.
