The Danner USMC RAT (Rugged All-Terrain) Boot is arguably the toughest combat boot ever issued to the United States Marine Corps. Developed in conjunction with the Marine Corps to survive the jagged, abrasive landscapes of Afghanistan, the "RAT" is built with a "no-fail" philosophy. Constructed from high-quality full-grain nubuck leather and tear-resistant 1000 Denier nylon, these boots feature reinforced polyurethane-coated "sharkskin" leather at the toe and heel to eliminate scuffing and wear in high-impact areas.
Designed specifically for temperate climates, this model features a moisture-wicking, breathable lining to keep feet cool and dry during intense activity. The boot is built on Danner’s legendary handcrafted stitch-down construction, providing a wider, more stable platform and allowing the boots to be resoled. In New (unissued) condition, these boots offer factory-fresh Vibram traction and original structural integrity, marked by the official Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem embossed on the heel.
