The Gen III ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) Level 6 Jacket is a lightweight, hard-shell technical barrier specifically designed for operations in prolonged, torrential rain and cold, wet conditions. Constructed from a specialized two-layer Gore-Tex (or equivalent PACLITE®) laminate, this jacket is engineered to be entirely waterproof and windproof while remaining 50% lighter and far more packable than legacy heavy-shell rain jackets. It acts as a breathable armor that keeps external moisture out while letting body heat and sweat escape during high-exertion operations.
In Used surplus condition, these jackets are professionally inspected to ensure the technical fabric and interior seam-sealing tape remain structurally sound. While they may show signs of field service—such as light fading of the ACU digital pattern, minor cosmetic staining, or faint unit markings on the tag—all heavy-duty zippers, storm flaps, and drawcords are fully functional, offering top-tier waterproofing at a fraction of the cost of new commercial gear.
