Gen 3 Level 3 ECWCS High-Loft Fleece Jacket is a heavy-duty thermal
insulation garment engineered for the United States Armed Forces as a primary
insulative mid-layer within the Generation III Extended Cold Weather Clothing
System (ECWCS). Designed to provide maximum warmth-to-weight ratio during operations
in sub-freezing and alpine environments, this jacket functions exceptionally
well as a standalone outer garment in mild weather or as a secondary thermal
layer under hardshell wet-weather jackets.
Constructed
from plush, high-loft synthetic thermal fleece (Polartec® Thermal Pro® or
equivalent), this garment creates deep dead-air thermal pockets that trap body
heat while allowing excess moisture to vent during high-exertion rucking or
field maneuvers. To optimize range of motion and breathability, the jacket
features stretch-grid fleece side panels along the torso and underarms that
increase airflow and prevent heat buildup. It is finished in official military Coyote
Tan-499 and features reinforced nylon paneling across the high-wear
shoulder and elbow areas to withstand abrasion from tactical vest straps, plate
carriers, and rucksack harnesses.

thoroughly cleaned, and structurally sound. Sourced directly from U.S. military
surplus turn-ins, expect standard signs of prior deployment—such as minor
cosmetic fleece matting, light surface scuffs, or soldier identification
