USGI Urban
Gray Modular Sleep System (MSS) Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag - Used
The USGI
Urban Gray Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag is the cold-climate
thermal layer of the United States Armed Forces Modular Sleep System (MSS).
Purpose-built for winter conditions and sub-freezing survival, this mummy-style
sleeping bag is independently rated for temperatures ranging from 30°F down
to -10°F (-1°C to -23°C). Designed for extreme adaptability, it can be
deployed on its own during freezing weather or snapped directly together with
the Lightweight Patrol Bag and Waterproof Gore-Tex Bivy Cover to form an
extreme cold weather system capable of surviving temperatures down to -40°F.
Fabricated with
a durable, water-resistant ripstop nylon shell and filled with high-loft
synthetic insulation, this bag retains vital body heat even in damp or
high-humidity field environments. Key features include an anatomically
contoured footbox to accommodate boots, a non-locking full-length heavy-duty
YKK dual zipper for instant "breakaway" emergency exits, an insulated
chest baffle, and an adjustable drawcord hood to seal in warmth around the
head.
In Used /
Field-Serviceable condition, this military surplus sleeping bag is 100%
operational, thoroughly cleaned, and structurally sound. Sourced directly from
U.S. military turn-ins, expect authentic signs of field deployment—such as
light fabric fading, minor cosmetic scuffs, or handwritten military
identification marks on tag blocks. Every bag undergoes complete
hand-inspection to verify that all heavy-duty snap fasteners hold firmly, the
zipper tracks operate smoothly, and the insulation remains evenly lofted
without major clumping, tears, or structural defects.
