The LPU-41/P
HESP (Helicopter Egress System for Passengers) Life Preserver is a highly
specialized, mission-critical flotation vest engineered explicitly for the
United States Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. Designed to be worn by helicopter
passengers flying in full combat gear, it was also selected by the USMC for
deployment inside Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAVs) to guarantee instantaneous
waterborne egress capabilities if a vehicle or aircraft breaches the water.
Manufactured by
industry leader Switlik Survival Products under Mfg Part # S-2531-1,
this low-profile, yoke-style carrier is built to integrate flawlessly directly
over heavy body armor systems, including the Modular Tactical Vest (MTV) and
Outer Tactical Vest (OTV), without adding restrictive torso bulk or interfering
with tactical mobility. Featuring an advanced dual-cell architecture, the vest
expands to deliver an immense 65 lbs of buoyant force, ensuring a fully
combat-loaded soldier is rapidly driven to the surface and kept face-up.
In Used
military surplus condition, these units are sold strictly as collectible,
display, or training items. Because they are sourced out of active military
turn-ins, they may have bypassed formal recertification dates, show signs of
