The USGI ACU
Wet Weather Trousers (officially designated in military logistics as Trousers,
Cold/Wet Weather) are high-performance, environmental barrier pants
engineered explicitly for the United States Army. Developed under the Generation
III Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS Level 6), these tactical
overpants are purpose-built to provide a completely impenetrable, field-ready
shield against driving rain, freezing sleet, and severe wind.
Constructed
from a premium 3-layer GORE-TEX® laminate (or equivalent authorized
proprietary ePTFE membrane), these trousers utilize a highly technical material
design. The tightly woven outer skin deflects external moisture and blocks wind
penetration. Concurrently, the specialized internal membrane contains billions
of microscopic pores that are small enough to keep liquid water out, but large
enough to allow vaporized body sweat to escape. This prevents the uncomfortable
"greenhouse effect" common in cheap nylon rain gear, keeping the
soldier dry and warm during intense physical movement.
In Used
military surplus condition, these pants are 100% field-serviceable and
completely operational. Every pair is thoroughly inspected to ensure the
zippers pull smoothly, the snaps engage securely, and the internal factory
seam-tape remains intact. Expect standard cosmetic signs of prior
deployment—such as light fabric scuffs, minor fading of the ACU digital
pattern, or a soldier's name handwritten on the interior tag block. They are
free of major holes, structural tears, or broken hardware.
