The M-65 Field Jacket in Universal Camouflage Pattern (ACU) is the final military iteration of the most iconic cold-weather coat in U.S. Army history. Built to the legendary M-1965 specifications, this jacket is designed as a rugged, water-resistant outer shell capable of performing in "Mean Monthly Temperatures" ranging from 14°F to 68°F. Constructed from a heavy-duty 50% Nylon / 50% Cotton (NYCO) Sateen, it is remarkably wind-resistant and durable, featuring the classic four-pocket front and a concealed hood for rapid deployment in foul weather.
Unlike modern lightweight layers, the ACU M-65 retains the internal button-in points for a quilted cold-weather liner (sold separately), making it a truly modular system. In Used surplus condition, these jackets are professionally graded for functional zippers, snaps, and drawcords. While they may show signs of service—such as light fading, small thread holes from removed rank/name tapes, or original unit markings—they remain structurally superior to civilian reproductions and are a favorite for work, hunting, and tactical fashion.
