U.S. Military H-Nape Retention Chinstrap – Used
The H-Nape Retention System is a significant ergonomic upgrade over standard "X-style" chinstraps for the Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) and MICH. Designed specifically to improve stability when wearing Night Vision Goggles (NVG) or other heavy headborne optics, the H-shaped rear cradle provides significantly more surface area at the base of the skull. This prevents the helmet from "tipping" forward under the weight of front-mounted accessories.
Constructed from durable nylon webbing with smooth, friction-reducing sliders, the H-Nape features a 5th adjustment point (the horizontal nape strap) that creates a custom, secure fit for various head shapes.
